What is a Tamaskan?

The Tamaskan Dog breed was developed in Finland beginning in the 1980s. Husky dogs from the USA were crossed with Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, and some German Shepherd. The result was a breed of dog that looks like a wolf, is very intelligent, works well, and has a sweet disposition. The breed is now esablished and is recognized by the American Rare Breed Association (ARBA) and the related Club of the USA (KC-USA).

Hawthorne Hellroaring Canyon of the Yellowstone Litter was born January 11, 2012. We were fortunate enough to be adopted by him as his forever family, along with our two cats. Our grandson promptly declared he should be known as Max — nothing fancy or unusual, just a solid, easy name, and it fits him perfectly!

Max is the friendliest, most laid-back dog I have ever owned or met. He is a quick learner and has excelled in all three of his training courses. He has been a Therapy Dog since he was 13 months old.

At the age of three and a half he has sired a litter of eight pups, and won championship titles from ARBA and KC-USA. His official fancy name is now ďARBA Jr. Ch., KC-USA Ch., Hawthorne Hellroaring Canyon at Eventide (Max)"!

Eventide Tamaskan is registered through the Tamaskan Dog Register (TDR).
The TDR is the only official worldwide registry of Tamaskan Dogs.
